The rapid development in New York is causing the loss of waterfront public space. With the combination of public park, the aquarium aims to free that piece of city waterfront land beside East River from being absorbed by private developers who only interested in profit return.

Instead of striving towards an iconic building, our proposal presents in low-building-profile but stand as a strong statement to preserve the waterfront space.

This proposal takes a gigantic aquarium tank as a window of the waterfront, uses Manhattan city skyline and Roosevelt Island as the backdrop of the aquarium, it aims to change the way how people appreciate marine life and the city itself.
